Share-safe photos/EXIF Viewer

EXIF Viewer

See what hidden data your photo carries — including GPS.

About this tool

Before you strip metadata or post a photo, you may want proof of what is embedded. This viewer reads EXIF locally — GPS, camera model, timestamps, and more — and never sends the file away. If you see location data, open Remove GPS & EXIF and download a clean copy for sharing.

How to use

  1. Choose a photo from your device.
  2. Review tags such as GPS, camera model, and capture time.
  3. If you see location data you do not want public, open the EXIF Remover.
  4. Upload only the cleaned download to Marketplace, social, or dating apps.

When to use it

Sanity-check a listing photo

Not every phone embeds GPS every time — Settings, airplane mode, and prior edits matter. Viewer first, remover second, keeps you from guessing.

Teaching family a privacy habit

Show a relative the GPS fields on a sample photo, then strip them. Seeing the coordinates makes the habit stick better than a vague warning.

After messaging-app downloads

Apps often strip or rewrite metadata when they re-encode. If Viewer shows almost nothing, the risky original may still sit in your camera roll — clean that one before you post elsewhere.

How this compares

This page is read-only: it does not edit tags one-by-one. Desktop EXIF editors are powerful but easy to misuse before a public post. For share-safe photos, viewing then producing a fully clean file is the practical path. Pair with HEIC → JPG if Windows cannot open the source, then view the JPG.

Things to keep in mind

  • Absence of tags here does not mean every copy of the photo is clean — check the file you will actually upload.
  • Some social downloads are already scrubbed; camera-roll originals usually are not.
  • GPS may appear as coordinates or as a map link depending on how the browser presents fields.
  • Screenshots typically lack camera GPS; original JPEGs from the roll are the higher risk.

FAQ

Why is some data missing?
Messaging apps and some social networks strip EXIF when they re-encode. Original camera rolls usually keep more fields.
Can I edit individual tags?
This viewer is read-only. Use Remove GPS & EXIF to produce a clean file without metadata.
Does viewing upload my photo?
No. Reading happens in your browser on your device.
What should I do if I see GPS?
Download a cleaned copy with the EXIF Remover and share that file instead of the original.
