Share-safe photos/Resizer

Image Resizer

Change width and height before posting to social or listings.

About this tool

Huge camera images waste bandwidth and get auto-cropped badly by social apps and listing sites. Resize to the width or height you need — keeping aspect ratio when you want — then download a copy that fits the platform. Everything stays in your browser.

How to use

  1. Upload an image from your device.
  2. Enter a target width (height can keep aspect ratio).
  3. Preview the scaled result.
  4. Download the resized file; compress next if a byte limit still blocks upload.

When to use it

Social posts and stories

Feeds often display a cropped center of a huge photo. Downscale to a sensible longest edge (for example 1080–1600px) so what you frame is closer to what followers see.

Marketplace and rental galleries

Hosts and sellers rarely need full sensor resolution. Resizing to around 1600–2000px on the long edge keeps rooms sharp on desktop without multi‑megabyte uploads.

Forms with max dimension rules

Some portals reject files over a pixel limit, not only a megabyte limit. Resize first, then use Image Compressor if the form still complains about size.

How this compares

Cropping changes composition; resizing changes pixel count. Compressing changes file weight without necessarily changing dimensions. Use Cropper to reframe, Resizer to hit platform dimensions, Compressor to hit byte caps, and EXIF Remover before anything public that was shot at home.

Things to keep in mind

  • Upscaling cannot invent real detail — prefer downscaling from the camera original.
  • Keep the original; share only the resized download.
  • After HEIC → JPG, resize the JPG rather than guessing dimensions on an unreadable HEIC.
  • Extreme shrinks look soft on retina screens; stop when the preview still looks crisp for the use case.

FAQ

Do you upscale?
You can enter larger sizes, but enlarging cannot add real detail. Prefer downscaling from the original.
Can I lock aspect ratio?
Yes — set one side and keep ratio so portraits and rooms are not stretched.
Does resizing remove GPS?
Re-encoding may drop some tags, but for privacy run Remove GPS & EXIF on the file you will upload.
What size should Marketplace photos be?
There is no single rule. Around 1600–2000px on the long edge is a practical starting point for clarity without huge files.
