Share-safe photos/Photo Redactor

Blur or Black Out Photo Areas

Cover faces, license plates, screens, or addresses before you post.

About this tool

Before a listing, story, or screenshot goes public, hide the bits that identify you or someone else — faces, plates, monitor contents, mail, or house numbers. Draw boxes, choose blur or solid black, preview, then download a flattened file. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.

How to use

  1. Upload a photo or screenshot.
  2. Drag on the image to mark areas to hide.
  3. Pick blur or black bar and review the preview.
  4. Download the redacted file; never share the unmarked original if privacy matters.

When to use it

Marketplace and curb-appeal photos

Hide neighbor faces, kids in the background, license plates in the driveway, and visible address numbers. Pair with EXIF Remover so GPS does not undo the visual cleanup.

Rental interiors and walkthrough stills

Blur mail, calendars, laptop screens, and family photos on shelves before a listing goes live.

Support tickets and chat screenshots

Black out emails, phone numbers, order IDs, and message previews before you post in a forum or send to a third party.

How this compares

Cropping removes whole edges; redaction hides spots inside the frame. Watermarks deter reuse but do not hide identity. EXIF Remover clears hidden metadata — use both when a home photo will be public. This tool is manual boxes, not AI face detection, so you stay in control of what gets covered.

Things to keep in mind

  • The download is flattened — blur cannot be “undone” from that file, but keep the original private.
  • Light blur on large text can still be readable; prefer solid black for account numbers and addresses.
  • Redaction does not replace a metadata strip for GPS.
  • Check zoomed preview on plates and screens; partial coverage is a common miss.

FAQ

Is blur permanent?
The downloaded file is flattened. Do not share the unredacted original if privacy matters.
Blur or black bar — which is better?
Black bars are safer for text and numbers. Soft blur can look nicer on faces in lifestyle shots but must fully cover the area.
Does this detect faces automatically?
No. You draw the regions. That avoids surprise edits and keeps processing simple in the browser.
Can I redact several spots?
Yes — mark each area before you download so one flattened file covers everything.
