Share-safe photos/Rotator
Rotate Photo
Fix sideways phone photos before you upload.
About this tool
Phone photos sometimes land on their side or upside down when orientation metadata is ignored. Rotate 90° or 180° until the horizon looks right, then download a ready-to-post copy — all in your browser, nothing uploaded.
How to use
- Upload a photo.
- Use rotate left / right or 180° until it looks correct.
- Preview the upright result.
- Download; run EXIF Remover if you will post the photo publicly.
When to use it
Listing photos from a quick phone shoot
Rooms and products shot in a hurry often import sideways into desktop browsers. Rotate before you resize or compress so every later step uses the correct orientation.
Scans and documents photographed on a desk
A 180° flip fixes pages that landed upside down without re-shooting. For mirrored selfies, use Flipper instead.
Shared albums from mixed devices
When relatives send HEIC or JPG that open rotated wrong on Windows, convert if needed, then rotate the copy you will archive or post.
How this compares
Flip / Mirror mirrors left-right or top-bottom; Rotate turns the canvas in 90° steps. Cropper can trim after rotation if edges look odd. Re-encoding here often drops EXIF, but for a deliberate privacy strip still use EXIF Remover.
Things to keep in mind
- Prefer rotating from the best original once — repeated saves stack quality loss on JPG.
- If a photo looks correct in one app and sideways in another, orientation tags disagree; a rotated re-encode usually settles it.
- Rotation is not a substitute for redacting faces or plates.
- Keep the unrotated master if you still need it for printing.
FAQ
- Does rotation remove EXIF?
- Re-encoding usually drops metadata. For a deliberate strip, run EXIF Remover afterward.
- Can I rotate by arbitrary angles?
- This tool focuses on 90° / 180° fixes for phone photos. Fine deskew belongs in a full editor.
- Will quality drop?
- A single high-quality re-encode is usually fine. Avoid rotating an already heavily compressed download over and over.
- Is my photo uploaded?
- No. Rotation runs locally in the browser.
